Royal Challengers Bengaluru registered their second consecutive win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as they defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by nine wickets at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Asked to bat, Gujarat posted a total of 200 for three, in response, Bengaluru chased the target with four overs to spare. 

Gujarat had a horrible start with the bat as they first lost Wriddhiman Saha in the first over and then after that Shubman Gill perished as well.

With the team reeling at 45 for two, it was Sai Sudharsan (84 not out:49b, 8x4, 4x6) and Shahrukh Khan (58:30b,3x4, 5x6) joined hands and bailed the team out of trouble. They put pressure back on the opposition and added 86 runs partnership for the third wicket. In the end, David Miller (26 not out:19b, 2x4, 1x6) finished the innings on a high.

Based on the vital effort with bat, Gujarat posted a massive total of 200 for three on the board. For Bengaluru, Swapnil Singh was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of one for 23.

In the chase, skipper Faf du Plessis (24:12b, 1x4, 3x6) took the team off to a brutal start with the bat in the powerplay. After he got out, Virat Kohli (70 not out:40b, 6x4, 3x6) took centre stage and continued his dream run in the tournament.

The batter brought up another half-century in the tournament and kept his team in the hunt. Will Jacks (100 not out: 41b, 5x4, 10x6) outdid Kohli with his brutal century as he slammed 28 runs against Rashid Khan to get his first IPL ton.

The Kohli-Jacks duo added an unbeaten 166 runs to take the team home with nine wickets.
