After facing two back-to-back defeats, Royal Challengers Bangalore made a strong comeback as they defeated UP Warriorz by 23 runs in the 11th game of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Bangalore posted 198 for three after being asked to bat and they then restricted UP to 175 for eight.

The change in the opening combination did wonders for Bangalore. Sabbhineni Meghana (28:21b, 5x4) and Smriti Mandhana (80:50b, 10x4, 3x6) added 51 runs for the first wicket. Ellyse Perry (58:37b, 4x4, 4x6) walked in at number three and along with the skipper put the opposition under tremendous pressure. They added 95 runs together allowing Bangalore to get some quick runs. Rich Ghosh (21 not out:10b, 2x4, 1x6) then made sure she finished innings on high and helped RCB post a total of 198 on the board. For UP, Sophie Ecclestone was the pick of the bowlers with figures of one for 22.

UP had a great start with the bat too as skipper Alyssa Healy (55:38b, 7x4, 3x6) and Kiran Navgire (18:11b, 2x4, 1x6) stitched 47 runs for the opening stand. However, after that they lost wickets early and were reduced to 113 for five. Deepti Sharma (33:22b, 4x4, 1x6) and Poonam Khemnar (31 not out:24b, 4x4, 1x6) tried to take the team to win but the target was too much for them to chase. UP managed just 175 for eight and lost the game by 23 runs.
