Delhi Capitals Women went to the top of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 points table with a 25 run win over Gujarat Giants Women in the 10th game, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Batting first, Delhi posted a total of 163/8 and then restricted Gujarat to 138/8.

Delhi skipper Meg Lanning (55:41b, 6x4, 1x6) got her team off to a great start. Then Shafali Verma (13:9b 1x4, 1x6). Alice Capsey (27:17b, 5x4) joined hands with the captain. Delhi lost wickets at regular intervals but a vital hand from Annabelle Sutherland (20:12b, 2x4, 1x6) made sure they went past the 150-run mark. Delhi ended with a total of 163 for eight. For Gujarat, Meghna Singh was the pick of the bowlers with her figures of four for 37.

Gujarat were off to the worst possible start as they lost Laura Wolvaardt for a three-ball duck. Things got even worse when they lost skipper Beth Mooney and Phoebe Litchfield after the starts. Ashleigh Gardner (40:31b, 5x4, 1x6) then tried to keep her team in the hunt but Delhi bowlers chipped in with wickets at regular intervals. They restricted Gujarat to a total of 138 for eight and won the game by 25 runs. For Delhi, Jess Jonassen and Radha Yadav picked three wickets each.
