The seventh match of the 2025 Men’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will see Antigua & Barbuda Falcons clash with Trinbago Knight Riders at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound on Wednesday.

Falcons got off to a terrible start this season and were beaten by St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in their season opener at Basseterre. However, they made a strong comeback against Barbados Royals, sealing a thriller in North Sound. Trinbago Knight Riders, on the other hand, showcased their strength in batting in their season opener against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots at Basseterre – they amassed 231/5 and restricted Patriots to 219.

Head to Head
Falcons defeated Knight Riders in both their encounters last season and, interestingly enjoy a 2-0 head to head against them.

Venue
Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound in Antigua has hosted 12 matches with the side batting second winning 10 of these encounters – thus, chasing is a big advantage at the venue. The captain who has won the toss has elected to field on nine occasions. It is not a very high-scoring venue with the average score batting first of 148. Spinners have out-performed the pacers in Antigua and have a better average (26.7 vs 30) and economy rate (6.8 vs 8.4) at the venue.

Batting Stats T20

Antigua & Barbuda Falcons

Falcons have registered one win and faced one defeat in three encounters while their match against St Lucia Kings was called off due to rain. Karima Gore has been the highest impact batter for Falcons this season with two fifties in high-pressure situations in as many encounters. He was the lone warrior during his 61 off just 34 deliveries against Patriots in Basseterre before anchoring the chase against Royals in North Sound with an unbeaten 64 off 53 deliveries. Gore's cool and calm temperament in tricky situations and his ability to change gears from anchor to aggressor make him an invaluable asset for Falcons.

Imad Wasim has been the standout bowler for Falcons in their two matches so far. He has been brilliantly restrictive, conceding just 33 runs in six overs. He has opened the bowling and conceded just eight runs in his two powerplay overs. Wasim has bagged 71 wickets in 64 CPL innings at a strike rate of 19.3 and economy rate of 6.33.
Wicket Takers T20

Trinbago Knight Riders

Knight Riders showcased their batting might against Patriots in their tournament opener and have the firepower to bat-out any opposition team this season. Colin Munro hammered a breathtaking 120 off just 57 deliveries at Basseterre in what was a stunning display of power-hitting by the veteran New Zealander. Munro has a commendable record in the CPL with an aggregate of 2473 runs in 79 innings at an average of 39.6 and strike rate of 131.3 with two hundreds. He has played in all the major T20 leagues across the world and in 442 T20 matches amassed 11343 runs with six tons and 68 fifties. Nicholas Pooran will remain the X-factor with the bat in the middle-order. He missed out against Patriots and will be raring to go against Falcons on Wednesday. He is widely rated as the most destructive T20 batter in the world – no batter has scored more runs than Pooran since 2023 (4597 runs at an average of 37) and he has done so at a phenomenal strike rate of 160.4.

Akeal Hosein was the most restrictive bowler in the high-scoring encounter between Knight Riders and Patriots at Basseterre and conceded just 25 runs in his 4 overs. He delivered two of his overs in the powerplay and gave away just three runs off the third over of the innings when the opposition batters were on the rampage and the rate required was more than 11 an over. Hosein also picked the crucial wicket of Andre Fletcher to shift the momentum of the match in his team’s favour. Known for his consistency in line and length, Hosein has an economy rate of 6.34 which is the third-best in the CPL (min. 30 wickets) after Sunil Narine and Imad Wasim.
